Every child is born with the ability to become a fine musician. With the right environment, training, and plenty of time, even a young child can learn to hear and play with a beautiful tone.

Suzuki method piano lessons offer even more than learning to play. As one Suzuki teacher put it, “The aim of the Suzuki approach is to produce a well-rounded human being who, through dedicated work in a happy and encouraging environment, has gained confidence and self-respect.”

Dr Suzuki found that children can learn a musical instrument the way they learn their first language: with lots of listening, copying, repetition, encouragement and appreciation. In the Suzuki Method, we begin with technique and playing by ear. Note reading and theory will begin around the end of Book 1.

An instrument to play on, daily home practice, and daily listening are essential.

The heart that feels music feels people.
